Duloxetine is manufactured by and marketed by the Eli Lilly& company in the United States under the brand Cymbalta. Cymbalta is mostly a 60mg serotonin-nor epinephrine reuptake inhibitor. This drug is usually used for major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, pain related to diabetic neuropathy and for stress urinary incontinence. Duloxetine was created by Lilly researchers with David Robertson, David Wong, a co-discoverer of fluoxetine. The company got its patent right for manufacturing Cymbalta in 1986.

Duloxetine is recommended for depression approved by US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
